If you have it, HOLD ONTO IT!

I like this cartoon. Love is something that you need to WORK on, but when you feel it coming, when it first touches your schnozz, hold onto it, don’t scare it off. If it stays then you are in big trouble!

Cartooning calms me down. Anyone who knows me well can attest to the fact that I’m a grumpy goose, I like to moan and complain about the shocking state of things. But on days that I draw a cartoon that I like, a weird calmness comes over me, a strange feeling of contentedness and happiness. What the hell’s that all about?

I’m becoming rather fond of this blogging thing. I’ve met some cool people online and some of these people actually said my cartoons are nice! This has made me start to concoct an evil plan, so expect some changes to the site over the next few weeks, I’m thinking of publishing actual comic strips which might add more value to the blog.

I always answer this question wrong

I hope that this cartoon does not offend any Christians reading this blog. This is a genuine mistake I’ve made when someone asked me once “Do you believe in cheeses?” I proceeded to rant on about how I enjoy a good aged cheddar; “I prefer the stronger cheeses like Blue and Camembert” I said oblivious to the astonishment on the questioner’s face. The person promptly muttered something about blasts and me, then she walked away in a huff. Months later the incident crept into my mind and I realised my mistake, I think Oprah would call it an Ah, ha moment?

TV is bad for you!

Lucifer's Dream Box

My favourite comedian Bill Hicks described the television as “Lucifer’s Dream Box”, this description is a very apt one I think. I love watching movies (I’m an action junkie), film is an art form which I appreciate, what I hate is advertising and the news. Advertising is so over dominating in today’s society that I’ve developed a deep hatred for it. Sure if you would like to let me know of a quality product that I might like then please tell me about it, but to be constantly bombarded by sales pitches for useless products and most often dangerous products is just annoying and in most cases I feel advertising is unhealthy, it shapes our view of how the world should be or how certain people want us to see the world, this view is distorted and unreal. Money is the driving force of advertising and wherever you find people trying to make the most money they can, you find a lack of ethics and a complete disregard for human life, people just become objects that will make you rich.

The news is another piece of rubbish invading my life, I seldom watch or read the news as it depresses me and I very much doubt the truth is ever written down, journalists have become fear mongers and sensationalists. The news is influenced by the advertisers who pay the salaries, how can I trust what I’m being told when there are so many players involved? Some people might say that ignorance is bliss and I agree with them.

There are a lot of other disadvantages to television, especially when it comes to children, I won’t write about that as I’m yet to be a parent. In a nutshell TV is lame!
